Okham’s Razor sprang from the breakup of Hobson’s
Choice in 1999. Original members were Roy Schroedl, Bill Golden, and Adam Draeger.
The group has evolved from 3 members to 5, and now a duo. The current lineup
is Roy Schroedl, Eric Fleming and Kevan Norin. The duo is made up of either
Roy & Eric or Roy & Kevan. Besides Golden and Draeger, former members
include Dave Berberick and Travis Balliene.
The sound is acoustic rock with a folk music twist. Instruments include
6 & 12-string guitars, mandolin, harmonica, djembe and a ton of
harmony. Okham’s Razor plays songs from the 1960’s to today.
The band has been seen at times in Chicago, but mostly in smaller venues
from Stoughton & Platteville, Wisconsin; Galena, Illinois and Dubuque
Iowa.
Music from their four original CD’s have been featured on the
Midwest Music Makers radio program. Wisconsin Public Television and
UW-Platteville telethon have also been on-air media where the band
has performed.
Okham’s Razor has also had articles printed in the Dubuque(IA)
Telegraph Herald and Platteville (WI) Journal. Their CD’s are
being played in Norway, Belgium, New Zealand, Japan and China, as well
as the USA. The duo plays in many settings, including weddings, graduation
parties, local bars & pubs, seasonal celebrations, music-in-the-park
shows, and other private parties.
